Oyo to Conduct Local Government Election on 12th May, 2018

OYO STATE INDEPENDENT ELECTORAL COMMISSION(OYSIEC).
NOTICE OF CONDUCT OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT ELECTIONS ON SATURDAY, 12TH MAY, 2018 IN OYO STATE.
(i) Pursuant to section 15 and paragraph 1 (i) (a) and (b) Schedule 2 State Independent Electoral Commission Laws of Oyo State 2000. Notice is hereby given as follows:
(ii) Election into Office of the Chairmen and Councillors in the 33 Local Government and 35 Local Council Development Areas of Oyo State shall be held on Saturday 12th May, 2018;
All registered Political Parties are required to purchase nominations forms on behalf of their candidates at Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission herein after referred ro as the (Commission) at its Headquarters, Quarter 848 Agodi GRA Total Garden Road, Ibadan.

Announcement of date of Local Government Election in Oyo State:
(a) Release of Election Time Table
(b) Release of Election Guidelines.
2. Monday, 5th - Wednesday, 14th February, 2018
Commencement of Political Activities:
(a) Commencement of campaign by Political Parties
(b) Conduct of Party Primaries by Political Parties and Observation of same by the Commission.
3. Thursday 15th - Tuesday, 20th February, 2018
Collection of Personal Data form for Candidates by Political Parties.
4. Wednesday 21st - Saturday, 25th February , 2018
Submission of Personal Data Form for Candidates by Political Parties.
5. Wednesday 28th - Saturday 4th March, 2018
(a) Verification/Screening of Councillorship Candidates.
6. Tuesday 6th - Saturday, 10th March, 2018.
Verification/Screening of Chairmanship Candidates.
7. Monday, 12th March, 2018
Delivery of List of qualifies candidates to Political Parties by OYSIEC.
8. Wednesday, 14th - Saturday 18th March, 2018
(a) Appeals/Substitution of un-cleared candidates
(b) Screening of Ad-hoc staff by OYSIEC.
9. Tuesday 20th - Saturday 24th March, 2018
Screening of substituted candidates by OYSIEC.
10. Monday 25th - Thursday, 29th March 2018
Collection of Nomination Forms by all cleared candidates.
11. Wednesday 4th - Saturday, 14th April, 2018
(a) Submission of Nomination forms by all cleared candidates.
12. Friday 20th April, 2018
Publication of names of qualified candidates
13. Wednesday, 25th April Saturday 5th May, 2018
(a) Submission of names and addresses of party agents to the Commission.
(b) Publication of Notice of Polls
14. Friday 11th May, 2018
End of Electioneering campaign (12 midnight).
15. Saturday 12th May, 2018
